Enjoy the Chase
It’s one of the best times of the year: Masters Week. The most iconic golf tournament in the world, the holy grail of the golf world. Nike Golf recently released a short ad called Enjoy The Chase featuring Rory McIroy in celebration of this. Watch Below as it embodies what we strive for at Create2Live.
The grind, the hustle, frustration, I love it. It’s great analogy for all of us. Wake up, make sacrifices, chase after what you love, at the same time ENJOY the chase. Rory McIlroy is a world class golfer. Obviously because of his talent but, consider all the work he’s putting in here. Talent alone will not propel him to his next green jacket.
If you’ve never played golf, it’s quite the humbling sport. No matter how athletic you are there are many technical details involved and different aspects of your game. Putting, short game, bunker shots all contribute to making your all around golf game better. It can be the same for life. There are different areas in our lives we must sharpen and improve on that makes our overall “game” better.
- Personal – Your character, who you are and the type of person you want to become.
- Career – Doing stellar work regardless if it’s your dream job or not. Outstanding work leads to opportunities and influence. If you’re not passionate about your work, what are you doing to connect the two? Start a blog, new skill or hobby?
- Relational – Friendships/Relationships. Are you a good friend? Giver or taker? We can always improve on being a better friend and listener.
While we may never win a major championship or sport a green jacket, we all have that goal in mind. One that fuels us, keeps us going when things are tough. For me, it’s starting this blog. It’s an idea I’ve had for a while, there’s times I want to give up or question if it’s even worth pursuing but I can’t quite bow out yet. I have to wake up, grind, repeat AND enjoy the chase along the way. Who’s with me?
