The Creative Challenge
Using creative constraints might be one of the most freeing things you can do for your work. Limits on your creativity forces you to become more creative. For the month of June we are doing a 30 day creative challenge. For every day of the month we will ONLY post a black and white photo on our Instagram account. We would love for you to be participate and even be featured. Submit your photo to be featured on the account, use the hashtag #Create2Live30. A couple of tips for taking black and white photos.
– Look for hard contrast – Contrast is the darkest to lightest point in the photograph. Look to shoot when the sun is at the highest point, so around noon or later.
– Look for water reflections – It’s about that time for summer showers and it’s a great opportunity to look for reflections in the water.
– Adjust with the clarity – If you’re in Instagram this is the structure feature. For photoshop/lightroom use the clarity function. This will add a sharpening like effect to your photos.
These are just a couple pointers to get you started, do you have any tips you’d like to share? Write them in the comment below! Come join in on the #Create2Live30 Creative Challenge.
